Deantoni Parks has felt like a well kept secret for years. The multi-instrumentalist and producer has worked with everyone from John Cale to Flying Lotus, but he has finally begun to focus on honing his completely singular solo work with Technoself, his debut on Stones Throw Records. Going Against The Clock gives you an idea of what Parks is capable of as he builds a complicated web of sampled, synthesizers and live drums with an effortless cool. One drum stick, one sampler, no overdubs.
