AKAI MPC STUDIO TUTORIAL | ALTERNATE LOOPING EXPLAINED
MPC STUDIO 1.9.5 tutorial for users of the Akai MPC Studio, MPC Renaissance, & MPC touch showcasing how to use the Alternate looping function when chopping up an audio sample. ALT loop is a great hip-hop sampling technique to use when you’ve chopped a sample but the chops aren’t playing as long as you want/need them to play.
It works by playing the sample fwd then in rev for as long as you hold down the pad i.e. it’s Alternating the sample and creating a loop.
**TIPS**
1. Pattern type has to be “Pad Parameters”
2. Go to the program edit page & switch ALL samples to “Note ON”
3. *Then switch all samples loop mode from “Fwd” to “Alt”
